and Contract Review and Authorization
The Division of Research Administration and Technology Services is the office of the "Authorized Institutional Official" for final approval of all SDSU research grant and contract proposals to federal, state, corporate, foundation and other private sponsors. The Division also provides direct consultation to faculty on various proposal development matters. During 2002 -2003 , San Diego State University submitted over 1,140 sponsored research proposals and the dollar amount of awards received from grants and contracts during this period totaled over $130,000,000. SDSU grant and contract proposals are generally submitted through and administered by the San Diego State University Foundation
Liaison with San Diego State
University Foundation
The Division of Research Administration and Technology Services provides administrative liaison with the San Diego State University Foundation. The Foundation is responsible for the identification and dissemination of grant information to the University community and receives and distributes information to SDSU researchers about federal, state, and private funding sources. A database of faculty research interests allows the Foundation to match up grant opportunities with appropriate researchers. The Foundation provides program guidelines, application materials, and information about funding agencies and the federal budget. They also maintain a file of sample funded proposals. In addition, the Sponsored Research Development Office at SDSU Foundation can assist with budget preparation, negotiation of awards, completion of application forms, contacting sponsors, compliance issues, and duplicating and mailing of p[proposals. All post-award services for research grants and contracts are provided through the SDSU Foundation.
